Adding Team Members
Don't share your own login. Give everyone who helps you run your hosting their own account, with only the access their job needs. That way you can see who did what, and remove someone's access in seconds when they leave.
This guide is for your team. Your customers manage their own users on their account's Users tab.
Choose the right role
- Super admin can do everything, including inviting other users. Keep this for people you'd trust with your own login.
- Support can manage customers and customers' websites. It's right for your helpdesk.
- Business can manage packages and branding settings. It's right for someone who handles pricing and marketing.
- Collaborator can only manage the websites they've been given access to. It's right for a freelance designer or developer.
Step 1: open Users
Click Users in the left-hand menu. You'll see everyone with access, their role, whether they've turned on two-factor authentication (2FA), and when they were added.
Step 2: send the invite
- Click Invite user.
- Fill in their Full name and Email address.
- Choose an Invite method:
- Invite with email emails them an invitation.
- Invite with link shows you a link once you click Invite, so you can send it yourself.
- Choose their User role.
- Click Invite.
Step 3: they accept
The new team member clicks the link in their invitation and sets up their account. Invitations expire after 10 days, so if they miss it, send a new one.
Good habits
- Ask everyone to turn on two-factor authentication. You can check who has it in the 2FA column.
- Give people the lowest role that lets them do their job.
- Remove access on the day someone leaves.
Troubleshooting
- You can't see Invite user. Only the account Owner and Super admins can invite people.
- The invite email didn't arrive. Ask them to check their spam folder, or invite them again using Invite with link and send the link yourself.
