Creating a Hosting Package

A package is what your customer is paying for: how many websites they can have, how much space, how many mailboxes, and which tools they're allowed to use. Create your packages once, then put customers on them.

Good to know

• You can't give away more than you have. Your packages are limited by your own reseller package. The form shows the most you can set, for example "Maximum: 50" websites.
• Changes apply to everyone on the package. If you edit a package later, every customer on it gets the change straight away.
• There are two Packages pages. Packages in the left-hand menu shows your own reseller package and how much of it you've used. The packages you sell live under Settings → Packages.

Step 1: open Add package

1. Click Settings in the left-hand menu.
2. Click the Packages card.
3. Click Add package.

The form is long, so use the section links on the left to jump around: Details, Website resources, Applications, Emails, Domains, Backups and Features.

Step 2: name it

Under Details, fill in Package name. Customers will see this name, so use the one from your price list, such as "Starter" or "Business".

Step 3: set the website resources

Most rows give you a choice: enter a number, or pick Unlimited. Setting a number to 0 switches that feature off.

Watch out: a new package starts with most numbers set to 1. That means 1 MB of disk space, 1 page view and so on. Go through every row and set a real number or Unlimited, or your customers' websites will run out of room almost immediately.

• Number of websites
• Number of Staging websites: test copies of a site. These don't count towards the website total.
• Disk space allowance: the total across all their websites. You can choose MB or GB.
• Monthly page views
• Bandwidth allowance: monthly data transfer. Email doesn't count towards this.
• Number of MySQL databases: databases use up disk space too.
• Number of FTP accounts

Step 4: choose applications

• Allow software installer lets customers install apps like WordPress and Joomla themselves.
• Allowed applications can be every app, or just the ones you choose.
• Pre-install application puts an app on every new website automatically.
• Pre-install plugins for WordPress and Pre-install theme for WordPress add plugins and a theme to every new WordPress site.
• The WordPress admin lockdown, plugin manager, theme manager and user manager switches decide what customers can manage from the panel.
• Allow Node.js lets customers run Node.js apps.

Step 5: set email limits

• Number of Mailboxes
• Mailbox type: Dynamic lets customers set each mailbox's size, up to a maximum you choose. Fixed gives every mailbox the same size.
• Maximum dynamic mailbox size can go up to 25 GB.
• Number of forwarders-only: addresses that pass mail on to somewhere else and don't store any.

Step 6: set domain options

• Number of addon domains, Number of subdomains and Number of domain aliases. See Adding Extra Domains for what each one means.
• Allow DNS zone editor and DNSSEC lets customers edit their own DNS records.
• Maximum allowed DNS records per domain.
• Allow Gmail DNS auto configuration sets up DNS for Google Workspace in one click.

Step 7: backups and features

Under Backups:

• Allow backups: customers can see the automatic backups.
• Allow manual backups: customers can take a backup whenever they like.
• Allow self restore backups: customers can restore files, mailboxes or whole sites without asking you.

Under Features:

• Installing their own SSL certificates
• SSH access
• Website cloning (clones count towards the website total)
• The php.ini editor
• Which PHP versions they can use, and the Default PHP Version for new sites

Step 8: save it

Click Add package at the bottom of the form. Your new package appears in the list with a summary of websites, disk space, data transfer, mailboxes and databases.

Copying a package

The quickest way to build a range, like Starter, Business and Pro, is to make one package and copy it:

1. Click the three dots (⋮) on the package, then click Duplicate.
2. Type a New package name and click Duplicate.
3. Edit the copy to change what's different.

Editing a package

1. Click the three dots (⋮) on the package, then click Edit.
2. Make your changes and click Save.
3. The panel reminds you that the changes will apply to all existing and new subscribers. Click Save again to confirm.

If you only want to change things for one customer, make a new package and move that customer onto it instead.

Troubleshooting

• The Add package page just spins. Refresh the page. If it still won't load, contact us.
• You can't set a number as high as you want. Your own reseller package sets the limit. Contact us to upgrade it.
