Upgrading or Downgrading a Customer's Package

Upgrading or Downgrading a Customer's Package

When a customer needs more space or more websites, or wants to pay less, switch their package. Their websites, email and files stay exactly where they are. Only their limits change.

Before you downgrade

Check that what they're using fits in the smaller package. Limits are strict: if a customer is already at or over a limit, they can't add anything more of that thing, whether it's a website, a mailbox or a database. The bars on their package card show what they're using now.

Step 1: find the package

  1. Click Customers in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the customer's name.
  3. Click the Packages tab.

Step 2: open Upgrade / Downgrade

  1. On the package you want to change, click the three dots () at the top right of its card.
  2. Click Upgrade / Downgrade.

Step 3: choose the new package

  1. Click the Package list and pick the new package. Their current package isn't listed.
  2. Click Subscribe.

Step 4: check it

A green message confirms the change, for example "'Pro' changed to 'Starter'". The package card now shows the new name and limits. The Subscription ID stays the same, and their websites are still on it.

Don't forget billing

The panel doesn't bill anyone. If you invoice your customers through your own billing system, update their plan there too.
